About Anne Nichols (formerly Buckley)
In addition to her experience in corporate marketing,
Nichols has been involved in many aspects of dog care, rescue, and performance
events. After adopting her first dog in 1991 Nichols
became an active volunteer for Greyhound Placement Service of NH and
logged hundreds of hours working in the forty dog kennel. She currently
serves as vice president of the organization and runs their nonprofit
specialty website GreyhoundGoodies.com.
Nichols has been training
dogs for many different types of events since 1992 and has extensive
experience in canine pack behavior, training techniques and methods,
canine health and exercise, and overall dog behavior. Her personal
dogs have all competed and titled in showing, agility, obedience, lure
coursing, and amateur racing. She has finished multiple champions, both
in performance and confirmation, with her dogs ranking among the top
ten lure coursing and amateur racing dogs in the country. Nichols currently
shares her home in Dover, NH with her husband Aaron and their six
dogs. She continues to stay active in the dog community.
About our Groomer, Lauren Isabelle
Lauren has been
grooming dogs full time since 2001. She loves all animals
and they love her right back! A dog owner since 1998, she
now has two poodles, Jettson and Kairi. Lauren began her
training in 1998 as a participant in the Animal Science program
at Dover High School. In 2005 she furthered her education
at Windy Hill Kennel College of Gilmanton, NH. She took courses
in grooming, training, and kennel management and graduated
at the top of her class. She began her career at a kennel
in NH and until recently, managed a large and well known
grooming salon in Portsmouth, NH. Lauren is familiar with
all breeds and mixed breeds and is of course, a poodle specialist.

About our Training Instructors
Obedience Instructor, Michele Houghton
Michele has been a greyhound owner since 1989
when she adopted her first racing greyhound. At that time she
became a volunteer and later began placing greyhounds from her
home in 1992 for GPS. Since that time she has grown from six
dogs to forty and has been a leader in the organization for
the past eleven years. GPS is now one of the larger placement
organizations in the New England area.
Michele has extensive knowledge of dog behavior,
pack mentality, and training. She is the group's expert for
personality testing the dogs and matching them with prospective
adopters. She manages the kennel's daily operations, greyhound
care, placement, and acquisition from the trainers and kennels.
Michele has been an all breed dog trainer since 1994 working
with some of New England's top trainers. She continues to offer both obedience
and agility classes for greyhounds and other breeds and remains extremely
involved in many types of dog related activities. She is affiliated with
many different organizations namely, American K9 Country, Souhegan Kennel
Club, and Gazehounds of New England, all of which are in Southern NH.
Michele has achieved high results competing with her own dogs in many
different activities. She has trained and shown in obedience, agility,
lure coursing, and amateur racing. Many of her dogs are titled and have
been named as top dogs in the country.
Agility & CGC Instructor,
Nadine Perry
Nadine Perry is a certified agility instructor by the White Mountain
School of Agility run by Julie Daniels. She has taught Agility and Canine
Good Citizen for the past 15 years for various clubs and private businesses.
Nadine graduated from UNH with a degree in Fine Arts. She has worked
in psychology for 18 years as a counselor and is familiar with behavioral
science. She uses this knowledge in her approach to teaching believing
in a gentle positive approach with rewards for good behavior. Having
fun is what it is all about!! |
